Sungjong Noh

Sungjong Noh’s entry into the violin-making field was profoundly influenced by his father, a master violin luthier. Driven by a passion for the craft from a young age, Sungjong pursued formal training and graduated from the esteemed Chicago School of Violin Making in 2011. Notably, he became the school’s first early graduate, demonstrating exceptional dedication and skill.

After graduating, Sungjong further refined his expertise through hands-on experience at a local violin shop in New Jersey. This period of practical work was instrumental in advancing his technical skills. During this time, he also benefited from mentorship by renowned luthiers Carlos Arcieri and Paul Wiessmeyer, whose insights significantly contributed to his professional development.

Sungjong Noh has accumulated extensive experience in repairing a wide range of instruments through his roles at Lisle Violin, Reed Yeboah Fine Violins, and Tarisio. His diverse background has enabled him to cater to a broad clientele, including students and professional musicians, each with distinct requirements. His expertise encompasses the restoration of numerous distinguished instruments, such as Stradivari, del Gesù, Amati and J.B. Vuillaume. This extensive experience not only enhances the quality of service he provides but has also established him as a trusted and respected figure in the violin-making community.
